PREPARATION OF CLAY: Clay is the primary material used in making bricks. It needs to be dug out, cleaned of impurities like rocks and organic matter, and then aged to improve its plasticity. This aging process allows water to permeate through the clay, making it easier to work with.

SHAPING: Once the clay is ready, it's molded into the shape of bricks. Traditionally, this was done by hand using wooden or metal molds. Nowadays, machines are often used for mass production, but hand molding is still practiced in some places for special projects or artisanal bricks.

DRYING: The freshly molded bricks are left to dry in the sun or in a controlled drying chamber. This step is crucial to remove excess moisture from the bricks before firing.

FIRING: The dried bricks are stacked in a kiln for firing. During firing, the bricks are subjected to high temperatures, typically between 900°C to 1200°C (1652°F to 2192°F), depending on the type of clay used and desired strength of the bricks. This process hardens the bricks and makes them durable.

COOLING AND REMOVAL: After the firing is complete, the kiln is allowed to cool down gradually before the bricks are removed. Rapid cooling can cause thermal shock and lead to cracks in the bricks. Once cooled, the bricks are carefully removed from the kiln chambers and inspected for quality.

QUALITY CONTROL: The final step involves inspecting the bricks for defects such as cracks, chips, or irregularities in shape or size. Quality control ensures that only bricks meeting the desired standards are used for construction purposes.
